Kira gives thanks, and a critique!
Picture book writers don’t get much room for acknowledgments in their books, but we have so many people to thank. It’s been a week since SECRET, SECRET AGENT GUY - the picture book debut of Troupe member Kira Bigwood, illustrated by Celia Krampien (Atheneum) - sneaked onto shelves…
… and it’s time to say THANKS!
Here’s a message from debut picture book author Kira Bigwood:
A gazillion and one thanks go to my family. My husband, for his constant support. My children, for their endless amount of love, mayhem and inspiration. And my parents, for fostering an appreciation for reading and creativity from the very beginning!
I share this book with remarkable illustrator, Celia Krampien; editor extraordinaire, Alex Borbolla and the talented team at Atheneum/Simon Kids; and fearless agent, Jennie Dunham (aka 00D, licensed to sell:). Our book would cease to exist if not for the work of many, ALL of whom I appreciate.
Loads of gratitude to all my critique partners (especially Jess Pilarski, my first book buddy and main motivator) for their camaraderie and of course, their honesty; the 12x12 community, for teaching, supporting and holding me accountable for years; and the members of PB Troupe 21 for their friendship and encouragement as we embark on our hard-earned journeys together.
Thank you all for helping me complete this mission!
To show her appreciation of the picture book community, Kira is giving away ONE manuscript critique to a picture book writer!
