Anna gives thanks, and a critique!

Picture book writers don’t get much room for acknowledgments in their books, but we have so many people to thank. It’s been a week since T. REXES CAN’T TIE THEIR SHOES - the picture book debut of Troupe member Anna Lazowski, illustrated by Steph Laberis (Double Day Books for Young Readers) - appeared on shelves…

… and it’s time to say THANKS!

Here’s a message from debut picture book author Anna Lazowski:

Anna Lazowski.jpg

Thanks first of all to my two kids, who inspired the idea for this book, and to my husband for his unwavering support.

I’d also like to thank my incredible editor, Frances Gilbert, for acquiring my debut picture book, and for pairing me up with the extremely talented Steph Laberis to illustrate. The whole design team at Penguin Random House also deserves a tip of the hat for creating such a wonderful, eye-catching book.

I’d like to send immense appreciation to my wonderful agent, Moe Ferrara at BookEnds, and to Debra Shumaker and PJ McIlvaine for hosting the #PBPitch event that brought Frances and I together.

Finally, hats off to my critique partners who provide invaluable feedback and whose work I can’t wait to see out in the world, the entire 12X12 community, and my book buddies in PB Debut Troupe 21 - I’m so glad we’re on this journey together!

To show her appreciation of the picture book community, Anna is giving away ONE manuscript critique to a picture book writer!
